Boot Oil Leather Preservative, Obenauf’s 16 OZ – Leather Preservatives (LP) were developed by a 31 season veteran fire fighter. Most damage to leather is caused by dryness, loss of natural oils, heat and chemicals, not water. The uniqueness of this product comes from its use of propolis, a tree resin with antibacterial properties gathered by bees to waterproof their hives. Combined with beeswax, the propolis suspends the natural oils and allows them to seep out over time. This combination also repels water and provides protection against chemicals, bacteria and mildew. Heavy Duty LP is a paste that should be used on a regular basis for leather care or to revive old neglected leather. LP Boot Oil is suitable for fast touch ups or daily treatments during heavy use.
